What's the difference between HomeMade and traditional providers?
We let you control your support, allowing you to find workers and negotiate rates. Traditional providers find the support for you and set the price, so you can get caught out paying more for services with different workers showing up every week.
Our online platform gives you an overview of your funding and makes it easy to manage your support with an overview of your support plan, service providers, budget and invoicing all in one place.
Our 100% compliance rating^ and transparency over fees give you peace of mind about who is managing your funding and where it’s going. If other providers do not provide such a high level of clarity, it might be time to ask them how they meet industry standards.
What's the process for switching to HomeMade?
Switching providers is free and easy.
- Let your current provider know you want to switch
- Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 to reactivate your referral code
- Call us on 1300 655 688 with your referral code, and we’ll take you through the steps to switch providers.
Will I lose services, funding, or any unspent money if I switch?
No, your approved service types and funding level will not change if you switch. Your current provider will release any unspent funds to your new provider within 56 days of switching.
Do I have to choose from your workers, or can I find my own?
When you choose self-management with HomeMade, you have choice and control over your services, which extends to choosing your own workers. You can source workers through the HomeMade or Mable platforms, or arrange for support workers you already use to be onboarded onto the HomeMade platform.
What is unique about your online platform compared to other providers?
Our online platform is easy to use, provides cost transparency, and allows us to adapt quickly to industry changes. Not all providers will give you quick and straightforward access to review your funding or seamlessly transition to comply with new regulations.
*The extra hours of support are based on the average weekday hourly agreed rate for social support and domestic assistance in aged care and disability support observed on the Mable platform in January 2025. (Mable is part of the same group of companies as HomeMade.) The calculation includes an agreed rate of $54.50/hour plus the Mable client fee of 7.95%, totalling $59.37. The analysis of fees charged by fully managed providers is based on publicly available information published by those providers as at 20 May 2024.

HomeMade hours per fortnight are based on a Self Management customer on a Level 4 package that is paying the average weekday hourly agreed rate for social support and domestic assistance in aged care and disability support observed on the Mable platform from 30 June 2024 to 1 January 2025. Mable is part of the same group of companies as HomeMade. This is compared with the hours of support that a person on a Level 4 package can get when paying the maximum total fees permitted and the average rate per hour charged by a support worker for cleaning and household tasks at three of the largest traditional home care providers in Australia, as at January 2025.
HomeMade fees are based on the fees paid annually by a Self Management service customer on a Level 4 package. This is compared with the maximum total fees a traditional provider can charge a person on a Level 4 Home Care Package, as at January 2025.
