If your funding includes companion care, HomeMade Self-Management empowers you to confidently manage your funding and support yourself. With an easy-to-use platform and access to 2,000+ verified service providers, you can choose and book the support you want, when you want it.
HomeMade Fully Coordinated offers a more supported service, where our expert team handles the organisation of your day-to-day support. While there is still an element of self-management^, set your mind at ease knowing we’ll take care of the day-to-day, including finding and booking local workers who fit your needs and schedule.

The number of hours for companion in home care will depend on your funding level, needs and availability.
If you self-manage, you will be responsible for sourcing your own support workers. Some independent support workers may have a minimum number of hours for a session; it is their decision to set these.
Unfortunately, companion care support work is in a different support category from light household tasks. You may be able to find a support worker who can provide both companion care and domestic support, which can be discussed when organising your initial support needs.
Self-managing aged care companion support means that you can find support workers who match your needs and preferences, including preferred language.
If you use Mable, which is part of the same group as HomeMade, to source support workers, you can use the language filter to find independent support workers who speak your preferred language.
In order to access companion care through a Home Care Package (Support at Home from November 1st), you will need to complete an aged care assessment that establishes your needs. If assessed as eligible, you can work with your aged care provider to establish what services will best meet your needs.
